It would be fun to get a group together for dinner Saturday Night at the Mexican restaurant near Arrow Highway on the back side of the drag strip. Anyone interested?

Also, on another note, there will be an open house to celebrate Bill's life on Sunday, January 19th from 2-5 P.M. If anyone would like to go, PM me for the address.

I received an e-mail from Bill's family with an article on Gary Kollofski's 1955 Chevy that was in Popular Hot Rodding's September, 1976 issue giving Bill credit for helping on that project.

  2. Sorry to hear about Bill, sounds like he was a great guy.

I thought the Saturday night Mexican feast was a given, what time?

I'm so sorry to hear about Bill. I never got to meet him, but was hoping to soon.

It looks like I'll be seeing you guys at GNRS in a couple of weeks.

I'll do my best on that one! I'm riding this time around instead of at the helm, so I'm kinda at the mercy of those that I'm traveling with.

They are welcome also! Believe it or not, we SoCal people have cars too. We can chauffeur you around if you want.

Sorry to hear about Bill, I got to know him a little during the deuce build. He was so open and friendly, it felt as if I had grown up knowing him. I count myself as lucky to have known him and luckier still that he thought enough to make and give me a CD of the build pictures that he had assembled (along with a lot of others).

Not too many truly nice people around anymore, it was comforting to have met and spent some time with him. I got the feeling that the few stories I heard him tell were just scratching the surface of the fun he had in his life.

Bill, now that you have crossed over, you might as well floor it and hang on.

I called the other day to find out and they said they will not be sure until Thursday when I get there.

By the way, thanks Jack! We had a great visit with you!

I'm sure some of you can relate to this. My son just took off in the Sedan for a drive. This is his first time driving it other than pulling it in or out of the driveway/garage.
I hope he has a good experience so he will enjoy it more in the future. As we all know, dad won't be around forever!

Like driving over the neighbor's lawns, mowing down bus stop signs, burnouts in the Hilton driveway?

    jalopy45-
Glad the driver is ok. Having the throttle stick is a scary thrill!

    Snot Rocket-
At least he didn't pick up Eric and Pete and go driving in the L.A. River like I did with my dad's Impala.

For those of you non locals, that was where they filmed the race scene in Grease except where we went there was slimy green moss everywhere.

  19. The driver is OK, but the judge that he ran over, not so much.

I'm in building 7. Pete's a judge this year and saw the terrible accident happen. The story was pretty chilling.

Sorry gang, I'm not going to make it over... Too much work and not enough cash have conspired to wipe out my good time this year. I am going to make it a point to go to San Diego for big three next month, and will NEVER miss LARS show as long as I'm alive.

    3wLarry-
    Thanks for noticing.

I don't know if any of you saw on the news the fire in California last week. We were told to prepare to evacuate from my home. We moved the cars and pictures and important paperwork. When we moved the stuff back in, it gave me time to look through some of the pictures. Look what I found.

This is what we towed the Sedan with to Fremont. I think I need to find one to complete the set. Agreed?
