A couple of the cars I found while drivning around in the high desert in and around Baker City, Oregon last weekend.

Great pictures. I'd like to have the flamed Ford as it is. Probably a lot easier to get to these cars than ones in Mexico. What sort of camera trick is that that makes some of the photos look like models?

It's just very shallow depth of field. I shoot an old pentax lens with my digital, and the old glass has a good look to it, plus it's WAY sharper than any of my multi hundred dollar lenses.

What kind of digital camera is that? Oh, and are the cars for sale?

You are giving away my stash. I grew up in Baker. The 39 ford I am building came from there. Most of those car i have seen before but not all of them. You also missed a few there is a fair share of old Tin in Baker. I still visit my family there and always look for the next project. What brought you to the big city of Baker.

The 54 Merc tudor hardtop is neat, the flamed Ford is outrageous, the 41-47 Ford Cabover is a goodie too.
Lots of neat stuff, ready to rescue.

The trip was just that, a trip. I have never been to Eastern Oregon before and I just wanted to see it. There were so many cars, but good lord, the trucks were everywhere but most were Chevys. I spent four days, but I think I still need another 10 just to drive down every alley.

If anybody cares, here is a link to a slide show of the trip, complete with desert landscapes and old buildings and neon signs.

I still have about 10 rolls of film to process too.

Oh ya, and the camera, it's a Canon EOS 1Ds.

Did I mention that the chrome was perfect, and I saw no rust? All the glass is there?

I hardly even saw a person. Maybe it was because of the holiday, but most of these I just strolled right up into people's back yards. I wasn't sneaky, so maybe that's why I didn't get shot. I grew up in a real crap neighborhood though, so I am not scared of too much.

I think I'll take my chances if she's only 6 inches tall!!;)

Great pics. Looks like it was a great road trip. I love to visit eastern Oregon. I prefer to live on the west side though. Too dry over there. Obviously great habitat for the non-rust cars though!!!
