Art & Inspiration *** Easter Friday Art Show 3-29-13 ***

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it .........

 

Frank Miller's brilliance really knocks me out and I obviously borrowed heavily from him to create these originals for Saturday's VIVA Las Vegas show. I won't make prints since the best part of these two pieces is his originality but like a band covering another band's song, it felt good blending his style into mine. I like them so much I'll move on to my own FM-inspired girls later.

 

Happy Easter everyone!

 

The only thing I have to show this week is the pinstriped boots I did for my daughter.

 

Afraid it's not in keeping with our theme but it's the first on topic piece I've had in a LONG time. When I whined about the hours I was investing in this thing, our own Mr. Norwell told me to suffer for my art... well, I suffered for this one man, I suffered. 1960 Chrysler 300F convert done with Adobe Illustrator...

 

Two customs this week, '54 Lincoln with a modified roof line from a '67 T-Bird, and a '55 Chevy customized with '57 Buick bumpers, tail lights and '58 Ford side trim.

Those are cool - even the photo is art itself!

I'm tryin' to teach myself how to stripe too. Did this cycle helmet for my daughter the other week -(we gotta' wear these things by law everywhere we go).





Not the best thing to be learning on, that satin finish doesn't wipe off easily if you make a mistake, but I figure it's a Bell, and ya' can't get much more traditional than that!

Had a bit of an experiment on my drill press stand the other day too....
