http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpHuUZgdedo This is a video at the end of another thread that might get missed otherwise. The thing I like about this event is that there is always something going on. Still OK to sit in the chair and watch, but there's plenty to do for those who like an active event. They are planning a Route 66 parade lane around the event for those that just can't sit still and need to wheel around. Those in chairs can enjoy a constant cruise by. Poker run, dances, tours and club competitions make for my kind of event! There is plenty of people who contribute to the event, but there's one guy and his wife who knock themselves out to make it the best they can for everyone. Thanks again Bob!<!-- / message -->
Almost forgot, they pay cash awards! You can buy a trophy, or put it in your gas tank and keep cruising..............................
The event is on June 8th, 9th, and 10th................. Oakside Community Park, Biglerville/Gettysburg, PA.
There's a pre-registration kick off party Thurs. The meal and other goodies included. Makes for a great looooooong weekend of cruising! It's in a nice park so you can set up your canopy and chairs along the tree line and if you are early enough, you'll be in a grand stand spot for the Route 66 cruise lane! Bop on in! ! !
Been a long time ,but I was up that way back around 1973 or 4 to race at the drit oval track, seem like it'd be great to go up your way again.
As you'll see Dana, a lot has changed since 74. Which track did you race at ? Lincoln Speedway ??? There's an old dirt car musuem a few miles from the show
The N Y guys bring some cool rides to the show. Were told they'd all be back again this yr. On the video. That's just 5 min's of approx 3 hr's of the event & cars I have. Sure helps to chase the winter blah's away
The museum mentioned is a must see while at the show. It's the Easterm Museum of Motor Racing Museum Address: 100 Baltimore Road York Springs, PA 17372 Just one of many cool things surrounding this show over the weekend!
Just found out there's going to be a Hamber's choice award at the show. The only one's allowed to vote will be Hamber's in attendance. A meet and greet is also planned with a sign up book to be signed all weekend.
Anybody on line tonite ??? Looking for some input on the Hambers Choice Award we're putting together for our Lead Scene East Show.
