Here are a two 1951 photos of the Mitchell Muffler Pickup. Dave Mitchell replaced the flathead with 303 ci Olds in 1951. When I bought the pickup in 2004 it had a 324 Olds in it and a B&M Hydro.

  7. Looks like I am doing nothing new.

I built a similar exhaust to this except I made my pipes swept back a little and the centre siamese port I used two by 1 3/4 and cut out the back of one pipe and overlapped them to pick up both ports.
I have seen them done with 3 pipes down the side like sidevalve V8''s.I chose to do the double on the middle siamese port to make it look more like a V8.

I hope these links work out. This is a site I made to share photos of my Hot Rod and some Hot Rod products that I have made.

Thanx Paul. You and Dennis Mothershed are in agreement. I do value and respect your opinions. ((<:

  9. In my 32 FORD roadster I am running a 371 Olds Motor,I am only running an alternator,no heater or Air Conditioning.

So can I just block off the Heater hose outlet on the Water pump.?

I would like to know if anyone thinks the heads would still cool OK with no water pipes connecting into the back top corners of the heads, near the Distributor.

Both Rear holes are blocked when not using a heater. They are never connected together.Heads are usable on ether side of the engine as in no rights or lefts.
And yes you can block off front outlet for the heater.

V1147/5670-2166 Olds Gold metallic (EARLY) available from Bill Hirsch Company 396 Littleton Ave. Newark, New Jersey 07013 ph. 1 800-828-2061. I just ordered a quart. I've been using it for years and it is a perfect match.

Don't want to hijack the thread, just a quick question.

    Will a 200R4 bolt up and work with a '62 394?

As Dr Oldsmobile says, give Tony a call at Ross Racing you won't be sorry. I bought one from him a few weeks ago and am totally satisfied. Everything I have purchased there has been top quality.

'55 324, started with an Edmunds 2x2, went to a Cragar 4x2 then back to the 2x2.

Car just runs better with 2 carbs.

Damn it Titus those are some cool shit in your collection.

  29. 38 FLATTIE,I bouhgt all my 371 Olds parts from Egge Machining, but I had to get the Cam from,CAMCRAFT.As Egge had no stock at the time of shipping for my stuff to land here in Australia.

CAMCRAFT said they have their own moulds and could grind my new cam to what ever specs I wanted from Mild to Wild.

I suppose they have them for the 394 aswell you would have to try them.Good luck,
    Tony.
