anyone got some weiand to show?

  12. Does the 57 Olds 371 engines water pipe that comes out of the water pump have to feed into the back top of the right hand head.

Ive looked at a few old photos but my engine has never been complete, and running so I dont know where anything is suppose to go.

I have a blank off plate with a two bolt fitting with an elbow pipe fitting on it.Does this head towards the water pump????

  15. Hey 6 deuce caddie,Mine is mounted into a 32 Chassis not an A model but you could do the same as I have.My 371 Olds has a like Bird type set of winged side mounts that pick up the Original 4 bolt front mounting holes and spreads out into the corners where the front cross member goes.Using original side valve donut mounts to locate it into the chassis.
Works well for me with Aussie steering, would also go well for US steering too.
Take a look at my previous post for link.

  19. Yeah Paul,
    I made those Covers.
I had a set of old tin Rocker Covers with dents and rust.As all old bits do.
I thought if I'm going to spend at least a couple of hours blasting them repairing dents, priming and then painting.

No, I wanted finned Alley ones anyway so I spent the extra time into Making the mould to make my own one of CARTER COVERS.

Thought why not put my family name on them, everybody else does,OFFENHAUSER, EDELBROCK,MOON,WEIAND,HILDERBRANT,ETC.

So I had a little name plaque made and recesssed it into the new mould. Sounds easy if I say it fast.lol.

    Rocket powered historic hill-climb car.
Owned, restored & raced by an old friend, built by his father in early 50's.

Gets a nice "crackle" from those rectangular exhaust stubs.

    Hi Backyard:
I'm somewhat new to the HAMB so I just found this thread. I have a few sets of the dimpled or knuckle valve covers. Original non painted, non chromed. Some surface rusting, some minor pitting. If you have any interest PM me.

    Thanx,
    Willis a.k.a. Dr. Oldmobile
