My first Art related post! Inspired by a '53 Cadillac, scribled on paper, drawn in AutoCAD, converted to pdf. One of these days I'll get the brush out.

You folks have some awesome art posted this week.

OK I did a small painting for this week. The image shown is about the actual size of the painting.
I just wanted to fiddle around with some colors on this one.
This one is based on a painting that I posted last week in the art show.

    Great stuff this week!

We have had some wonderful storms lately. Not too long after Floorman dropped off Court's new TX cab another one rolled through. At the end was this double rainbow.

How is this HAMB related you ask?

Yep. Meteor has it on this week. That is one sharp cookie.

I'll try to run over and get some car shots to show what is really there! One man's trash...60's Galaxies, 2 59 Edsel wagons, a 53 or so Skyliner (if that's the one with the plexi top), some 58 Ford's, a 30-31 A pile of rust, a '40 Ford PU with a Nailhead rusted in place, Stude, and a 46-8 Ford 4 door to name a few. Nice guy, too.

I like the choice of colors on this one. It has a comic book color feel to it. I mean that in a good way too.

  16. Here's my contribution for this week so far...
I sketched it out and colored it on the Wacom tablet in about 40 minutes.
I took my time I guess. (Not sure what kind of grille that is.)

    First the quick sketch:

Thanks Jim, good to be back:)
and to see that everyone else, haven't skipped a beat! all the stuff is awesome!
I've been on different art subjects, so i haven't posted here lately, nor been spending much time on the Hamb. I'll be doing a new series of pop-art cars in the near future.
cheers and thanks everyone for the kind comments and inspiration to pick up a brush.

Thanks for all the positive feedback! As usual, great show so far, kudos to everyone.

that's my brother-in-law, great guy for character reference.

it's actually a digital painting. It's a bit of a bummer not ending up with an 'original painting' but I really enjoy the process.

Thanks Zumo, that's exactly what I was going for.

I've been messin' around with various effects and layerings (In Corel Draw, of all places). Here's a tribute to an old friend who passed away many years ago. His name was Lloyd LeGrand and he ran a repair shop just down the road. I went to school with his boys. He was a great guy and let us kids hang out in the shop and maybe learn a thing or two.

To the best of my knowledge, he never actually raced a 32 3-window (or anything else, for that matter). He was too busy keeping the rest of us on the road! I like to think that had he been able to go racing, he might have raced something like this.

I built the model, photographed it and, like I said, I've been messin' with effects.

So, this is for Lloyd ... and the rest of you too, if you can dig it.

    Thanx

    Deano

Very cool stuff as usual, inspiring it is. Nothing new to post this week, nothing automotive but the 65 Riviera script for an upholstery guy. Maybe next week!

    That's great...hard to believe that's a model...looks like faded reality.
