Early Ford steering box internal question

    I know the 37-48 passenger worm and sector can inter-change with the F-1 box, but what about the 37-47 pick up worm and sector? Are the 37-48 pass. worm and sector the same as the 1/2 ton p/u's?

    Same. Get yourself a '28-48 book! You solve this sort of thing by looking up a part that would have to be identical, like the sector or a gasket. The worm was sold only on the shaft, so there are a dozen variants, but the book details out total length and location of lock collar hole so you can figgeritallout.

    Yep, I've had several "different" 37-48 worm gears, different machining marks, part numbers, etc... but they all are dimensionally identical.
