Good day all, trying to finish a 65 C4 for a pal. However, someone used a late (1970) pump and literally glued it in with rtv silicone. Does it need a hole plugged in the case since the early pump used an o-ring and the later did not? I am not a FORD guy and as many know, FORD made a lot of changes throughout the years that can cause issues if one is unfamiliar with them.
    Thank you all.

I don't know about the pump, but I do know a later select shift valve body works perfectly in the older cruiseamatic.

I’m not a transmission builder or even knowledgeable about the inner workings of them.

I will eventually tear into one however I don’t think gluing a pump in with silicone is even remotely close to being okay.

I can’t believe the sketchy shit some guys will do.

All the C-4s had both an o-ring and gasket
