I am working on a 53 special with a straight 8 and a 3 spd trans. There is a small single bullet connector switch on the drivers side of the column, under the hood. I was thinking it was a neutral safety device? I can't find anything in the manual about it. I know on the automatic the neutral switch is a 2 wire right at the linkages and that same switch gets used as a reverse lamp switch in the 3 spd. car. Anyone?
Not mine. Customer's car. I'm doing a bunch of stuff on it to get it more road-worthy. Mostly under the hood cleaning/painting and of course, rewiring. But I'll give you this pic. of the engine so far.
That car looks great! Why did you sell it? My project is getting there. It's a lot better than this. I didn't have a whole lot to start with. And there was a lot of "extra" wire there. I've been doing it over in cloth wrapped wire. Not going for original, just trying to get that 50s vibe. I have some fab ahead of me to get that 2x2 to clear the motor mount still. I think I can pull it off. Guy has been real happy with the direction. Thanks again to everyone for the info.
