E-brake lever assembly 46-48 Chevy car

I am trying to get the old lever to operate but it appears if something is missing. Lokar makes the cable connections but there must be something necessary to grab the cables. The assembly manual does not have a decent photo or diagram. The lever works up and down okay.

If someone has a photo or a diagram it would be helpful to get it working. Thanks

Thanks, looks like I got to look for the pull rod & a spring. I might be able to make one out of some round bar.
