I powder coated the axles on my last 2 cars and it seems to hold up well. Been thinking about having another deuce axle dropped. It looks like Thunderbird and Anson do about an equal quality job of dropping an axle. I'll have to make a decision? I can find Thunderbird but Anson seems to be a little elusive.

Can't go wrong with Andy. Plus, he's a great dude.

That said, Greg is a great dude too. He's on Instagram a lot. Let me know if you can't get a hold of him. I can DM him and tell him to call you if you'd like.

I think Titus is closer to you, so that may help with shipping. Last '32 axle I shipped was $30 each way. Jeff is also a great guy.

Can't go wrong with either three.

Kohler has done two axles for me. Totally trustworthy, good product.
Titus has done axles for my brother. Also totally trustworthy, good product, and much closer to us.
Anson drops a pretty axle, but I've never had him do one for me.

    My mistake perch bolt.
The picture has the stud straight inline with the bolt.
The ones I find are mounted to the outside or inside.

It looks like it's welded to the wishbone

Hey guys! Here's mine first attempt of axle drop. By mesurement it's a 1932 Ford "Heavy Axle" (please correct me if i'm wrong!), this axle is going to be in my 1930 Ford Tudor.

I've build this jig last year, and i was building courage to do it!! Yesterday i've mocked everything up and it turned out to this: 20211006_172152.jpg 20211006_172157.jpg 20211006_172202.jpg 20211006_174103.jpg 20211007_102009.jpg
Planning to do the other side on weekend or so!

All opinions and criticism are welcome.

    Cheers from Brazil!

I like it, the drop has a nice, flowing look. Some others I have seen are too angular.

The Haifley Bros. machined up a stainless press fit kingpin cap and a steering stop bumper on my spindles. Axle is a dropped 1932-36 Ford.

  18. A great post Neal. I follow your stuff on Instagram and it has inspired me with my current 32 project. You did a steering box for me.

Your work is beautiful and your ideas on components and stance is what we need more of. I like your nod to all 19 of us in an early post. Hop Up guys will sure get that from the Mort era.

    Thanks,
