Used to ice race in central NY for 25 years, vw rabbits, Honda civics, neons Subaru's etc. Ran tires with screws or specialized tires Supplied BT Menard's. Remember lookin down one day and seeing 102 mpg in my civic SI this on a mile and a half road coarse. Its a hoot, bumps and all.

Here in Iowa we called Gymkhana's icekhana's in winter and staged them on plowed frozen lakes.
It was the only timed event in which I could beat Corvettes with the family Corvair Corsa.
No studs or spikes allowed. We had to leave the drivers window open and carry a life jacket in the car while we ran.
Also rode my 175cc Bultaco on lakes in the "City of Lakes" aka Minneapolis.
    Power slide forever. Great fun!

No way I'd do that! I don't care how thick that ice is, there is water underneath it!

Jeff, I KNOW you won't mind me posting up my blizzard epic adventure! It is all about grabbing life by the BALLS, I had Lyme in my brain a long time and couldn't get any Medical Doctor to find it, or seem to care? I just got the right Doc,....so I look at life so wild now!

Ok, We got a heating oil delivery at 5:30 AM!! we ran out the day before, and my son did call in the order a day before! Ok, so I hear clanging at the filler pipe out my back door, =the driver is filling the tank.. I slip out in stocking feet, hair all a mess, "Hey! can you keep it down? I'm trying to sleep!"

Oh he thought I was serious for a moment, then says they have been out straight 15 hours a day for the whole last week of wicked low temps, and the blizzard would shut them down today! And I asked where the owner is...oh, slipped and hurt his leg!

So I decide to go pay the bill in person in cash that my son left! LOL

I set out on foot first to blaze an "unknown to me" trail, down behind our place, along the tracks and fences..etc. Going on foot was just like a kid again! exploring! So I walk in, ask if they can take cash! Yep says the desk Cutie! I say OK, I will go home to get the money! LMAO! What fun, but my walking tracks were invisible in a few places by the time I went back with My Star bug I built in 3 weeks this summer!

I boiled over bigtime as I got to their shop, my halfass rope fan belt was slipping! LOL And the snow was piling up so fast, I knew I'd never get home the back way, so.....down the State route I went..even passed right by our home!! went to visit neighbors...then parked next to our back door! F;n blast!!! I had! (first pic shows the Star WAS parked for winter, no water, one flat front tire and I never hooked up the charging wire! GOOD TO GO!)

How about a "Race of Gentlemen" drift edition? No salt water or salty sand.....just a whole lot of cold and a whole lot of fun.
