Does anybody know whether the six splines used at the front of an A driveshaft are the same size as the six splines used in the later V8 axles?

In other words...are all the early Ford six-spline shafts the same size?

There are three flavors of interchangeable U-joint: Early A has riveted construction, looks like a clever kid made it with Meccano parts; supposed to work as well as it looks--bury in unsanctified ground.
Forged late A/V8--normal forged construction, bearings are plain bushing type. These are generally in good condition, and I have heard that current manufacture rebuild kits are crap. Find one with good bushings and install.
Lincoln Zephyr--has needle bearings. Likely to need rebuilding, rare, expensive.
