DRD57 DOWN ! , but he will be Ok

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ELpolacko, Nov 14, 2003.

  1. I got news from Scribe (Dan Kahn), Tim Bernsau, Jim Rizzo and DeEtte Crow from Rod and Custom magazine that our HAMB/RRT hero had a mishap on the Ego-Rama.

If I get details wrong please forgive me but this is second hand information folks.

Apparantly while visiting Hotrods and Custom Stuff Don was backed up to a wall. He reached into the car from the window to start it and it didn't fire so he opened the door to put a foot on the gas and get it warming up. It fired and was in reverse or got knocked into reverse and scooped him up and slammed him to the ground. I assume the car got messed up but more importantly Don did get hurt but he will be fine. He hurt his back and banged his head on the ground and now has to be horizontal for a few weeks.

    Wish him luck folks,

If anyone else has better info please post it here.

    Thanks everyone

Steve, thanks so much for filling in a few details. My heart goes out to Don. He worked so hard the last couple of weeks to make his hot rod more competitive. It's a shame this has happened. Thrilled though that he will be ok.

I have never met Don but look at his photos all the time.

He takes pictures of the kind of cars/trucks I like. Almost like I took them myself (but I am not as good a photograher).

    BUMMER.........

I wish him a speedy recovery..... [IMG] [IMG]

Get well soon Don. You are still a WINNER with All of us [IMG]

  29. Dottoes by me on the recovery. I've been following Dons thrash and bad luck with same the last couple of weeks. Probably worn out a little I'm sure an wasn't really thinkin. We have all done that at one time or another. I know I have. Hang in there Don.

  30. What a bummer! Glad you're OK Don. The car can always be fixed. I'll vote for you next year too. So get better and then get working on the car - only 11 more months to go till the next Ego thing!

See you at the Grand National Roadster Shoe in January?

    Dennis
