Dragway 42's 5th Annual "Rock and Race" Nostalgia Weekend - July 23, 24, & 25 - INFO

It's just 6 weeks away!

 

Looking forward to the Rock and Race again this year, I am curious on your pamplet though. 1/8 mile for 10.99 and faster? Trophey class for 12.00 and up (slower) what do the 11 second cars get? If your going to run 1/8 I may change my mind. thanks! ( All of the previous years it has been 1/4 mile) Don

 

So what is the band line up for this year ? Thanks

There is a rumor going around 42 is down to one lane because track conditions have gotten so bad is this true? i sure hope not.

 

I am considering coming out to this again. Last year was a good time! I would also like to know about the band line up.....

It would be pretty easy to dispel that rumor just by looking at the results posted on the track's website from the various classes at the race events held each week. Here are a couple of the final round pairings from last weekend's events.

In addition, it is not uncommon to see multiple door cars running in the 8's at 150+ and dragsters in the 7's at 160+ at some of the Tuesday and most of the Friday night 1/4 mile Test and Tune events.

Five of the bands who will perform are Longshots, 45 Spider, Gimme Dat Shoe (formerly Horror of 59), Legends, and Krush.

Look for a larger stage and expanded listening/dancing area in 2010 as the musical portion of this year's "Rock and Race" is moving from between the concession stand and grandstands on the pit side of the track to the grassy area on the other side of the track.

 

Good deal. If I can make my way out there I won't be in till later on Saturday but I hope I can get off of work early.

 

I'm in 45 Spider, and we're supposed to be playing Friday night. If you like 60's garage/fuzz, come check us out!

I've been wantiong to go for years. This year I'm finally in! The Spinout is on Saturday I think. I'm thinking Spinout in the AM and then Dragway 42 then rest of the day on Saturday. It should be a good weekend!

It might be cool to get a group together at the spin out and cruise over to 42 together... if anyone's game, look for me in the "51B" 1932 Ford roadster!

We'll be there in the woman's '59 Ford Country Sedan again! Got radials now so there should be no issues on the way home like last year! Look for the big red 'n' white '59 by the big blue tent on the campground and stop in and say HI! No truck for me this year - puked the 2nd stock rearend in 10 months with a 265 Chevy and gettin prepped to build the new semi-secret non-GM powertrain for her.
