Thanks for the kind words on my Jr.Fooler and yep NHRA does have its collective heads up thier butts sometimes. However,I guess havein them around is better than nothin.
Sharp eye on the Beaumont front end Fanspete! Not many people south of the border recognize that one.
The front grill work came with me from Canada. It was on my 69 Beaumont till an untimely spin out caused me to turn that one into a short track stock car.

I kept all the good stuff and when I moved to So.Cal. I picked up a 69 ElCamino and grafted the front on it. Something GM should have but never did. (Funny though, They did do this on the station wagon versions in Canada??)

This truck had over 600,000 miles on it when I sold it to a father/son team in Chino.

Get some 3/8'' flangles with round holes and 8 tubes of 90 degree conduwit 2 1/4'' diameter and make your own. The Stellings and Hampshire Red Stamp Fueler had these kind of weedburners made by Kent Fuller.

I'm pretty sure I saw that car in Auburn, Indiana at the auction about 10 years ago.

    James,
i plan to restore it to the way it was when it ran in Australia, (with the 392) rather than with the 426 as it was when it was on the cover of Hot Rod. Dyda has been trying to talk me into doing the HR version but I want it to look just like it was when I first saw it in April of 1970. Later on I may do another body for it and build a 426 so that I could show it as either version. Send $$$$

  26. Here's the altered that a ran a few times. It was a group effort, everyone threw in there junk to go play. The chassis is A 1981 McKinney, the fourth one built, the first to be teched, and possible the first to be raced. 427 BBC injected on alky and a powerglide. I ran it in 2001 or 2 at a little non-sanctioned 1/8th and ran 5.77 @ 118. Fun stuff! The guy still owns the chassis. Three of us that where involved with it have been trying to buy it from the forth guy, but he won't sell it. So, I guess I'll have to build my own!

I'll hoping to get my car built in the next year or two. It will be a close copy to the car below. I'll probably start with the motor & tranny out of the altered first, then maybe my dad's injected nitro 388 SBC! Finally, I'd like to build my own blown alky SBC and shorty 'glide. I'm planning on keeping the Chassis Research type roll bars on the outside of the car and have a SFI spec roll cage inside of them. It should look pretty tits!
