Projects Dragster Build! Five months in Ten minutes!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mctim64, Nov 10, 2010.

  1. I have a build thread on this car already but last night I put together a little "Multi-Media" presentation of the whole process and I thought that more than just the "Y" guys would like to see it.

I bought my Mark Williams blue print in Jan. of this year and made my first pass in May at Eagle Field, not too shabby if I do say so myself. ;)

    Enjoy!

    That was fun.
My only comment to you is (and maybe you changed it or not) is that you should remake the dash and this time bend the bottom and have an 1" to 1 1/2" flat lip , Reason being in case you go over the bottom wont act as a razor blade and cut your legs all up. Safety tech doesnt catch this, and I have had to redo other peoples work brought in by racers walking with a limp.

  13. Thanks for the tip! That is something I didn't think of, although to do it over I would prolly just delete the panel since I never look at the gauges anyway.:p

10.61 @ 124 was my best so far, it has 4.33s in it now wich are great for the 1/8 but it runs out of breath in the 1/4. 4.11s are in order this winter. ;)

  14. Here's my best run at Famoso so far. Looking for 9s next year.

I had to smile at that cause i know its true. I ran doorslammes for years and watched the gauges like a hawk but I have a real problem watching even the tach in my rail. I just seem soooooooooooo busy. Obviously i am not alone.

Makes me feel lazy. Do these chassis prints make allowances for size of driver? I am 6'4'' and my son is 6'9''. Nice work.

over the top . Thanx man.

  25. We adjusted the length, I think you could adjust the cockpit. Blue prints are a guide line, nothing is chissled in stone. BTW, I'm 6'0" and there is plenty of headroom, you can put the peddles where you like.
