The points were junk. We think the horrible road conditions took it out. Next year we will remove the generator each day. Squirrel and i worked on it all day. We decided to run it and see what happens. We had 38 degrees of lead and it sure liked it. The tires hiked up and it took off. Unfortunately the mag started to act up. It was misfiring bad so i ended the run. We loaded up and headed out. Now the lencos 3rd gear is smoked. We are now out. I hooked up a ride to get the trailer. We might be back at the grove.
Damn, X, that sucks. Too bad about the Lenco. I missed Squirrel's run this morning when I stepped away for a moment and then waited for yours. There's always next year. You are my hero..... Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
That sucks! I can't wait until that car makes a clean pass! You and Jim continue to set the bar high for the rest of us. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Damn I hate to hear that, I watched some today and never seen you. Ratitude 55 chev done one heck of a wheel stand and screwed up either 1 or both front wheels. Seen another 55 gasser having problems, he tried to make a pass almost at the cut off, missed bad in the burn out and stated pumping white smoke out of both sides.
We ran late in the all run session. Ddd its funny you should say that a guy overheard me talking about needing some points. He gave me a card to call a guy who has points along with a donovan. Its going to happen.
Drag week for sure is a tough event for cars and drivers as well. You'll do better next time and none of us doubts that.
Sorry to hear you are out Brian, I did see your run today. Thats Drag Week, can not wait to get there, can not wait to leave. A toll is starting to take hold on a lot of cars. It really is a hell of a test of car and driver.
Thats Dennis Taylors 55, They had wheels on the way to fix the car and continue. Very strong running car!
Finnegan's Blasphemi 55 Chevy dropped a valve during the burnout. Hole in the piston. They were going to try to limp on 7 cylinders but the piston is seized in the bore. He's done. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Well....my little Chevy made it to the hotel near Byron, so I should be racing in the morning. this is a tough game
I'm home now. i had to check on my lenco stash of parts. i had them sitting by the door to go on the trailer. at the last minute i set them to the side. sure enough two new sets of clutches still in the bags. we will have it fixed later today.
i offered to put up jim. he passed on it. tricky steve and cheryl are staying here tonight. my son has a 69 super bee thats green.
my son has done drag week in the past but not this year. Im home now with the car and trailer. I will go to the grove. Not sure about running it yet. It looks like i have the parts to fix the trans. I will be tearing into it today.
In your video i see squirrel playing with his nuts....i mean tightening his wheel. 10.09, pretty damn good !
Only two cars in B/Gas this year? And Chisholm and Stasiak aren't there. Dang this could have been my year, if only I had gotten mine done!
Finns with VIP dropped another valve and are out too. Tough times they were second in ultimate iron. And it happened on the road and low rpm. They may try to fix it and race in Cordova outside drag week if in luck
