History Drag Racing Class Designations ??

  1. Yes at first the wheelbase rule was 92" and Anglia's are 90"

    Ohio George did that. I have his video and it said the first one weighed 300 lbs and that he couldn't lift it on to the car so he made a lighter one. Thats one smart guy. I'm glad I got to talk to him a few years back because there is much time before these guys are gone sad as it is to say.

    The most accepted weight/cubic inch for A/G and A/GS (later called AA/G then AA/GS) was 5 lbs/per. This weight was used when nostalgia racing began and was the weight for naturally aspirated (A/G) and blown gas (A/GS) cars that competed in the Goodguys VRA class called A/Gas Eliminator. Blown alcohol cars that ran in this class had to carry an extra 1/2 lb/per inch to attempt fair play. The AA/S class(gassers on meth) has used this 5.5 lbs/per inch minimum from the beginning (1994).
