Thanks! It's been really fun so far. I'm currently swapping to a smaller carb (670 holley), dropping a better distributor in it and a looser converter. It'll be at the track for the first time this year at the end of the month. I'd love to see 12.5 out of it when the weather cools down.

So... I guess I need drag radials or something. LOL

Got to the track for the first time this season. Had a blast as usual. I finally ditched the chinese HEI and put a decent Pertronix distributor in it. I also installed a slightly looser converter. What a difference! First pass went well off the line but I got to about 4500 rpm and the ignition started to break up so I eased it back in to the pits and went over my wiring. I re-organized my spark plugs wires and tightened down the boots on the distributor and that solved it. Next run I decided to see how far I could push this new converter so I got on it really hard and it pushed through brakes and then I proceeded to burn the right tire for nearly half the track. I just stayed in it. I was having too much fun.
That blue model A in the pic runs a 365 Cadillac. Consistently 13.1. It's a beautiful car and I was so happy to line up against it and meet the owner. I guess I was too excited and that's why I rolled the light and did a huge burnout. LOL
The next pass I managed to calm down and came off the line really well. I finally got my 60' time down to 1.97. I'd say that's pretty darn good for an open 2.79 rear and radials. This netted me a 12.67 @ 107 for a new personal best. I think with cooler and less humid air, I'll be able to get 12.5 without much hassle. Boy is this stuff fun!

Went again tonight. First time out that I didn't post a personal best. I got close with a 12.69 @ 108 but the track was so slick. I even spun on that run. I guess they don't do a real good prep on these 'family nights' or whatever. It was still a good time. I left my taller 29" tires on the car so I didn't expect to do that well. I got that 12.69 on a 2.02 60' so the car was definitely running nicely. I ran several 12.8s peddling like crazy out of the hole. Still managed to outrun all those new Challengers, and Mustangs though. If the track was a little stickier I woulda gotten my 12.5. Oh well. See you all at the Jalopy Drags at Beaver Springs. PRAY FOR NO RAIN!!!
