Anyone have pics of Mallicoat Bros. twin turbo car? It was really weird to hear the tires squeal during a smokey burnout.

There was a feature on it in Hot Rod Magazine back in '71 or '72. You might want to go on their website and see if they have it in the archives.

Not sure if this goes against the spirit of this thread but I got some shots from the Bakersfield March Meet from last weekend. I figured I would post one and see what folks have to say. The body on this car was immaculately prepaired.

Vindicator was an injected car, not blown. I never saw Bill Lawton's solo effort without Tasca Ford backing and John Healy tuning. Interesting.

  19. I was thinking the same thing SK. This had to be a short term thing as I've never seen another shot of Lawton's car.

Hear, Hear! Very well put. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a caption or description, especially from an eyewitness, only serves to add to the enjoyment, the memories and the accuracy for those who weren't present. And the knowledgeable "conversations" between those who have shared the love and experiences of this sport over the years....Priceless!

I just got back from running my T/F car at the March meet and have been catching up on this thread. Great stuff Skywolf.
On the CA dragstrips add Santa Maria to the list of long gone.

Thats different, I wonder how it really handles? Thats a pretty serious set up in that motor there.

Here's a couple more from the March Meet out in Bakersfield. Unfortunately the Holy Toledo Jeep was in the near lane and I wasn't able to get a better shot I remember that thing running back in the 70's. As noted they had 40 Funny Cars there reminded of the days of 64 Funny Car meets out at Orange County International Raceway.

doing a wheelstand would get pretty scary..lol

reminds me of the time I was dumping a load of wet clay in a triaxle years ago,the bed came up,load never moved and the front came up to meet it..quickly hit the handle to lower the bed and it came down hard..I must have been 30 feet in the air.
scared the crap out of me..

That Old Gold 39 Chev Sedan is one fast mother. Got to see it years back at Fremont. Was running a big block with a single four barrel then.

That car would run all day. Guy that was driving it must have made 50 passes.

Run it hard, bring it back to staging lanes, do it all again.

    Sweet, real sweet!
