Right!! I've got my big boy pants on!! I've quit posting pics and shut down my website due to assholes cropping and stealing pix from My collectiion and then selling them on E-bay! If thats crying I guess I better get some tissues!! But I'm done with posting pix!!

It is common courtesy to post the credit line on a photo if known. If a photo has a taken by name it shouldn't be cropped off. If you want to crop it for your own collection then do so but use the uncropped image if you are re-posting. I once, as Bob did and does, used photography to earn a part of my living and would frown on someone using my stuff with out at least giving me credit. Bob is one of the "good" ones who is willing to post his photos and those of others he has permission to post. I have many photos from long ago that I didn't keep up with whose they were, when posting these I state "sorry photographer unknown" but I always say courtesy of "****" for those I do know.

Those posting others photos on e-bay and such for sale should be prosecuted.

    Enough said by Falconred

Well from what I've learned here today, there seems to be "photo" guys and "car" guys. I'm a car guy....the car in the pic is what matters and I really don't care who took the pic or claims it. I guess if you wanted to split hairs, even if you claim it and paste your name across the pic...the driver of the car could bitch...then the owner...then the sponsor...then the car maker...

Sorry if this makes you photo guys mad, I just want you to know that there are some of us who love these old pics and to be honest....I want to share them and I want others to share. I don't have different folders for them on my computer dividing the credited and non-credited pics. I surf the web and save pics I find that people have posted.

I think that you guys that are bitching about this stuff are hurting HAMB members. If there were no old pictures here....it would really take away from the whole "traditional" thing.

    Just my opinion! :p

  10. Wow!! I used to watch these guys when I would visit my grandparents in Clearfield PA in the summers. They were at the county fair and put on a heck of a show (or so I remember as a kid).

  11. Think about it this way: If you built a car (let's say you built a tribute car of the Ala Kart, just for grins), and someone else advertised it for sale, then took money for it and split, wouldn't you feel justified having justice done on them? It's the same thing for someone who created a photograph (even if it was a photograph of someone else's car) and then had their hard work be the coin in someone else's pocket.

I try to give credit for the magazine scans I'm posting, but I didn't always record that information so I try to give as much as I can when I share.

I post a shit pot of pictures – many are mine – many are not. I have seen quite a few of my original shots on E-Bay for sale. At first I contacted the sellers and bitched and got the “I bought it somewhere else – I didn’t do anything” bs, “I’ll remove them if you’d like” – then I figured if someone wants to pay someone else for the shots I post all over for free – who gives a crap.
The end results are the shots are enjoyed by car people and that suits me fine. I personally don’t cut other peoples tags off their shots; I just won’t post those shots. But if I picked up a shot that had someone else’s tag cropped, how the hell would I know?
No one here is making any money off what were posting – so let’s just relax, and enjoy what’s here!:D

If you don't want a photo copied then don't post it on the internet. Let's keep this thread as clean as it has been. So post away Drag Nuts.

can someone please clean up the thread so we can enjoy it? the complaining doesn't need to go on,be glad these pictures survived for others to see. If we can't enjoy seeing these cars whats the point? this stuff is history, think how many great pictures are gone forever.

Here's a few of mine, all of which have been swiped and put on other websites with someone else's name as the photographer. Sure it pisses you off, buy WTF can you do? I'm here for the fun. That is all...

Paradise Mesa, San Diego, early '50s. Covered with houses and strip malls long ago. It had been a Navy auxiliary landing field during the war.
