I recently did a similar thing with my avatar altered - switched from 12 x 32 slicks (avatar picture) to a 10 x 28. With today's track prep techniques I deemed big slicks with lots of rotational momentum may not be needed any longer.
Picked up .05 sec in the 60 ft; 1/10 in the eighth.

That is one beautiful race car. Does it say Oddy's Automotive on the rear quarter? Never seen it before anyone know the history? Thanks for the pic.

Timely repeat. With the center section a different color and absence of grill not photos of the same series of events but great photos still.

  19. Yes it say's Oddy's on the quarter because Jim Oddy built the big block Chevy in it. Its not an old car it was built by John Faust in the early 2000's. I saw it run at the Gasser Reunion at Thompson when it was still a basically new car. It's been on here in color in the '33 - '36 picture thread. It is a candy brandywine with lace and gold beltline stripe. I believe someone else owns it now.

  26. The BEST, most imaginative race car name I've seen in quite a while!

If it were mine, and not nearly as nicely built as this one, I'd have to name it the "Lark MESS Monster"!
    :p
