    Dick Woods Fremont CA D/MP Dick held the NHRA national record went on to win Street Elim Pomona 1967 in 1969 joined the Ford Drag Team with Ed Terry. When the Drag Strip closed a few years later he moved his shop to Oroville CA . He told me about the 67 win an said a lot of the runs he shut off the last run was against Bill Coons SOHC 57 Bird from Ohio.

    "Pop" McKiean's '40 Chevy. Really nice car. I lived just a few blocks from them in Pasadena.

    Val LaPorte's "All American," was once the Orange County Metal Processing car driven by Norm Weekly and others...LaPorte bought it, and later put it into a water-filled ditch in Florida after he couldn't get it stopped.

    Pete, so you knew Pops too...really nice car, injected BB chevy.Art Carr hydro....his son drove...I raced them in Don Wilson's gas roadster, beat them at San Fernando, they beat me at Irwindale when I blew the bottom out of the engine.....whole family were great people....
