Ian Splatt in Vic Muirhead's Bounty Hunter at Castlereagh International Dragway, Sydney, Australia. I crewed on the car in 72/3 and have that photo hanging on the wall in my office. The photo is from the New South Wales Championships event in 1973.

I had that car in my shop around 1983, a local kid bought it less engine and trans. He had me mount a BBC and 400 Turbo, so he could go bracket racing. At the time, it was just an outdated Logghe Chassis, with a likewise Mustang body. I understand it is at Garlits Museum, all restored.

No, this is a swedish FC, Opel Manta body driven by Bjorn Andersson. The car was named Valkyrian. The shot is from Mantorp park.

Gas dragster eliminations, probably '61 winternationals, Canada's Jack Williams vs. Gordon Collett from Portsmouth OH...I think Collett won the meet one of those early years.. (see Dean Lowe note below)

Oklahoma's Jimmy Nix...this engine came out of a '40 Ford sedan gasser...Jimmy would compete in numerous classes through top fuel for years, sadly died in a RED...

for some reason this photo is labeled "San Gabriel," but it is actually in Arizona, maybe Beeline? I think the car is Dallas Martinson from San Diego, carbureted Chrysler on fuel

  28. The Jack Williams Pomona photo has to be '61. '61 was the first Winternationals.
