  13. LOL! That's the way it was with film. You might load up a roll in September and not get it developed till February. Did you find some Christmas shots on the same roll?

And thanx for adding your pics to the collection here!

Ted Radoumis and Mike Moore crawled under every gasser they saw while building this truck. Chuck Finders and his chicken made a few tweaks to their design. Since Doug Cook's shop was next door, he watched over construction and helped with chassis adjustments. Seen here, after Mike left, with it's injected SBC before Ted took the truck to Houston. Nolan Brandt at Race Car Parts helped turn it into a B/Gas Supercharged contender and match racer for years. This truck was bought back by Ted, returned to California, completely restored, and is driven regularly with a mechanically injected 310" blown SBC. For those who say it can't be done, here's one.

Yeah, no, nothing from Christmas or Thanksgiving in there, ha, ha. They are slides and not all from the same day. Dated from May to Sept '67 so I guess that's what it is. We were running a '53 Olds in L/S so I was there every Sunday but thought it was '66!
Still trying to find pics of the Olds.

Rest in Peace Al. I had no idea that he was having problems. Very sad.

  17. A former auto tech instructor of mine raced an Olds similar to yours way back when. Did you ever cross paths with Sam Shinabery? I wish I had access to some of his photo albums.

We were in high school and didn't travel with the Olds. Only ran at Dover so I don't think I know Sam. There was one guy with I think a '50 Super 88 that maybe ran in N/S. IMG_1860.JPG

I'm sure most don't miss this about the old days.

  21. Anyone have some pics of the Hicks and Conway injected altered that ran under the name Super Karrot? Obviously it was an orange roadster. It had injector stacks at one point and then ran a scoop at another point. It is seen in the Jackson Brothers video Bad Boy Altereds. Come on guys, lets see what you can dig up!!

  22. With the reputation those guys had, nobody would mess with it!

    Some more:

M&V Automotive, these guys built this car in a shop on North Lake in Pasadena, Paul Hornung was involved, the same guy who built the red 32 roadster that Gray Baskerville drove after Paul's passing (he died in a motorcycle accident)

Looks like a Dodge roadster body...

Braskett later went on to run funny cars, Chuck Finders was a gasser chassis master...this looks like Fontana?

No, you're not seeing double...Garlits versus Garlits, Marvin Schwartz in one car, Garlits in the other, Garlits won, Smoker's meet, '65. Garlits had tried to win since '59, finally did it with this two-car team
