NICE SHOTS ...Will contact you to see If you have any more! Dino
You may be right, it was a long time ago, but the car I saw tumbling looked like this:
and not full bodies like the Honda of Wilmington car...but if Pete Eastwood does have the Mangler, then clearly I remembered it wrong!
I'm looking to identify this Altered Class Coupe.
Body Make and Year?
Anyone know who built it?
How about what state it may have been from?
I have emailed Dino and I have a lot of old DDS slides. Not the best quality but still good history.
I plan to scan them and provide them to him. It is just a slooow process.
I lived in Norwalk, CT and then moved to Germantown, Ohio in 1973.
I always like the Bocanfuso picture, one of a kind.
I always liked seeing your MG run, was the name Baby Torque?
I have more pictures which I will get to hopefully soon.
Yes it was and still is. We ran it at the New England Hot Rod Reunion this year. And we run the Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia Drags every year. I'd appreciate copying the pictures for my collection.
Correction: "Pete has the Honda of Wilmington car. The mangler is in a garage in the Chicago area were it remains because the guy never paid Eddie Flourney for it." - wavemaker

Can't make out the name or the place
These all came from FaceBook, some have probably been posted before, but with over 1774 pages, can't keep track!!
Think you're right on the top photo, Jim Nicoll in the Der Weinerschnitzel car, can't make out the second name, could be Shubeck, or does it say "Starlight"?
Starlite, I think.
Could be, Larry, this is as close as I can come. Chuck Griffith drove Starlite IV, here at Pomona in '68. No wing on nose, but could have been added...still not sure, though:
Tried to Google it...too many damn mid-80s Oldsmobiles...

Wow...Best photo ever. Grumpy, Dyno Don, Jungle Jim and Sox and Martin (COME ON!) I need more information! WHO WON THIS EPIC BATTLE?
July 5 1969 York US 30 Drag News Grumpy Dyno Jungle Sox
The cover photo which features a 4 wide race between Grumpy Jenkins, Dyno Don in the Harvey Ford Mustang, the Jungle Jim Camaro Pro Stocker driven by Steve Kanuika, and Sox & Martin. Grumpy won the match race with Dyno 2nd, Sox & Martin 3rd, and Steve Kanuika 4th.
Thanks! Searched Don Ewald's site, no mention of either driver or car, so wonder if this is the only picture of it? Anyone know more?

Great video, thanks for posting, great way to spend a wintery night!!
Looks like it was between the Ford & Mopar...
I think Grumpy won the race.
See post # 35478.
Thanks for the info "Wiper"...
Some photos from Edmonton Speedway, not all are dated so hope they are within the timespan of this site:
Terry Capp and Bernie Fedderly -- didn't Capp go on to top fuelers? We know where Bernie Fedderly would up, with John Force
In the pits at Edmonton
Pretty fuzzy, but still cool, Cliff Lennox
Early days, ok, it's sort of crude, but so was a lot of our stuff...
At Calgary, don't know who owns the digger
Not in motion, but classic TE-440
