    Hello Everyone,

I bought my daughter a 1938 Ford 1/2 ton as a project for both of us. She's an old car nut like me. Can anyone tell me if the 1938 truck doesn't have a keyed door lock, and if not why?

the lock is on the passenger side door, not the driver door, as was the practice back then

  3. Jim is correct, there was a time when a gentleman opened the door for a lady, it only made sense to lock the passenger door. HRP

Well that and the streets were rarely paved and everyone parallel parked in the day so siding across the street and exiting the right hand door kept your shoes clean.

Seat or street? o_O.... Sliding across the street might keep your shoes clean, not so much for your trousers......:D
