DSC01798.jpg DSC01799.jpg DSC01802.jpg DSC01810.jpg I'm pleased to report that the old 32 Ford gasser 3w cpe that went out west for a drivetrain and some fun for the owner while out there is now back on the east coast in VA.

I'm very happy with the car. This internet sale went well and the seller was a real standup guy. I also appreciate the insight and help from several of my friends who had seen the car in person and gave me accurate feedback on its condition. It's nice when the descriptions and overall condition assessments from everybody are all the same and match what the seller is saying.

Before anybody gets excited, I am not going to put it on a new chassis and paint it pink.

For the most part it will stay as it is now.

My old 40 pkp which was last painted and pinstriped in 1957 is also included in a few pics.

Why wouldn't we care ? That thing is badass. I wouldn't even wash it, it is perfect as is. :) Love the Luzader look it has.

    Love the coupe :D
    Thanks for the emailed photos.
You KNOW I would love it.

I always figured you as a fat fender guy

You need to get the coupe road worthy and come South to Charlotte NC on June the 2nd 2013 and join the Deuce lovers bunch and do the " All Deuces Run "

  19. Wasn't that car in Hot Rod Deluxe a while back? Originally when built as a racer it was set up for a Pontiac engine if I remember right.

Love that car! Glad it stayed in the HAMB family. It looks right at home in it's new place. You already had the perfect tow rig for it! CONGRATS!

Thanks for all the kind words. I'm working to put together as complete a history of the car as possible. I talked to Red Stanley, who built the car in the 50s for over 20 minutes last night. He is still sharp as a tack and promised to try to help find more pics of the car from back in the day. I promised him a ride or maybe another pass in the coupe if he helped me out... that really woke him up!
It is the same car that was in Hot Rod Deluxe last year. In fact, my pal Gerry Burger who shot the car and wrote the article was a major influence on my decision to buy. Locally, Famous Jack Fuller also helped me as he had seen the car as well and is very knowledgeable about 32s.
Dynaflash, do you remember what kind of times y'all were turning? Mike said he thought he was in the high 13s. He said it went straight and quickly.
Attached is pic from the article. I've also included a pic of it on the track out west at Eagle Field.
It will be hard to make the Charlotte gathering as I've been going to York for many years and I think both events fall on the same weekend. York this year is how I got the 40 pkp in the pic. Can't you just see that pkp flat towing the 3w?
I am looking for a small tank for the front spreader bar as the one used on the car while racing belonged to the owner's Dad and he'd had it for a long time and wouldn't part with it. Please email or PM any leads on a replacement tank.
Anyway, thanks again for all the kind words and potential help with finding a fuel tank for the front of the car.
    Happy Hamtown Al

That's one I would have a hard time changing. All of it's character has been earned honestly not by some fake patina.

Very cool, I love the car and I am a 40 Ford pickup lover too. You have the perfect combo. Good job.........................

  30. Thought I recognized that ole Straight Line Warrior; saw it run at the Billet-Proof Drags
here last summer. Would be neat to get some additional pics and history together on it.
    (That patina is well-earned....)
