Just wanted to know if anyone could tell me about a gas tank that works best for Mounting in the rear of my 1948 F1? Would like to know the best donor vehicle to get it out of at the salvage yard. Working on a budget...Thanks...Scot

    from Greeley Co

I read tanks from mid 80's F150 (side mount) work well to mount against the inner frame.

Are you removing/replacing the behind the seat tank or moving it to under the bed between the frame rails? If your keeping the behind the seat tank location you may be able to use a find a mid 1970's Ford truck gas tank that went behind the seat. I think 77-78 was the last year Ford put them behind the seat in the F150's.
