All these funny Hotrod names...here's a Match...The Bitchen Bitch meets Slutty Miss Vicky...:D

I don't know much about engine and horsepower makup but it would be cool to see stuff side by side whatever the outcome...just Happy Howling Hamber's is priceless...

Well it's near time to get wrenching for next year...

@flamedabone that differential stuff is pretty technical and the thought of carrying around a 300 degree chunk of center section...or was that a heat treatment?...is a bit of an interesting element to the process...

Anyways A joy to watch you do your Magic...thanks for sharing that...

I have to figure out where the seat is going to figure out where the steering box, column, starter, headers, brake/clutch pedals will go. Seat was from a late model Dodge Dakota. Not in terrible shape, but about 6 inches too wide.

Peel it down to bare frame, cut 6 inches right out of the middle.

Cut the foam with a cut off wheel and hack saw blade. The upholstery guy will glue it back together with his bad ass glue.

Not very exciting, but it all needs done.

    See ya, -Abone.

Man, I don’t understand how you can be building that in a garage that is sooo clean, it’s like it’s staged or something...

There is a bunch or stuff fighting for the same space on the drivers side so the first thing I like to nail down is where the steering box and column are going to go. I put my ass in the seat, hold the steering wheel in my hand where it feels right, and start building from there.

Here is the FlamedAbone Basic Ass Steering Drop (tm).

The beginnings of the pedal mounts.

Don't look at the street roddy box and steering linkage.

Not enough room for regular four tube/collector style header so I built this three tube deal.

    Mostly finish welded and ground.

    Plenty of room.

    The easy side.

Next is building the exhaust, finishing the brake/clutch pedals, then I can build the floor.

    See ya, -Abone.

Your build makes me wish I was still do'in mine, rather build than drive it.
So got a question for you. When it came time to put the splash pans on in order to get the tail ends of them to fair in with the body. they gaped away from the frame at that point about 3/8" and of course the gap tapered forward to the last bolt to around a 1/4". I had to make spacers up to get it bolted up right. Being an old rod I measured the frame to see if it had been pinched any and it had not. Any ideas why this is the case? BTW, very cool Jewell 34, I'm envious even with owning the widowl:)

  14. Lookin good! I moved my engine over an inch and a half to clear starter, exhaust, steering etc. Now that's it's done I see I really didn't need that much room. I think I'm gonna center my engine this winter but I'll need to build headers. Speakin of such....did you make your header flanges or buy them.........and where.
I bought a pair a few years ago but the ports are HUGE! Can't use them.

  16. Hey Flamer,
That is some talent,,building those exhaust /headers like that,,,that is what I call innovation!
By the way,,,I just saw your steering drop,,,is that a Pontiac head sitting in front of the future firewall location,,,,man some people just don’t know when to give up.

Just kidding,,,I know you are a Pontiac guy,,,,,Lol
That should be a really strong mill,,when you are done.
Gonna use a blower on it too,,?,,,,or just mock up?

Yep Tommy, this little car will have the same basic engine as the blown 389 in my Model A, but this one will be a "few" more cubic inches.....

  18. How few,,,,!!!

    Gonna go big time,,,?

Doesn't look like much progress, but the exhaust took damn near the whole weekend. Lots of stuff to get around on the drivers side.

Now I can finally build the floor and firewall.

    See ya, -Abone.

Just a word of advice, if I may. Make sure you can dismantle, remove and refit the exhaust from underneath the car with the completed floor in place.

Don't ask me why this springs to mind. Lets just say a sawzall was involved.
    And cussin'

The blower drive is going to eat up a lot of room, so the engine is bac a pretty good ways.

Needs a little more finish welding and grinding.

    Floorboards are finally done.

Next, she will get 4 unnecessary inches removed from her roof.
