I would like to take a moment and get the word out, a good friend of mine Don Edmunds had his house compromised and all his patterns and molds to build his famous 1920s Miller 91 rear drive race cars in 1/8 scale have been stolen. Don was the 1957 rookie of the year at Indy and later went on to owner builder of Edmunds auto research out of Los Angeles. Don now resides in Pistol River Oregon. So all you guys up in the state of Wash and Oregon keep an eye out for this stuff at swap meets , model events, flea markets, let band together and help Don get his stuff back. Attached are a couple pictures of his models. The molds and body patterns are the bulk of what was taken so it would be a Chris Garcia
Didn't Don Build some beautiful tether cars as well as static models? Let's hope he can recover all his patterns. Mick
"Compromised" What a strange word for "stolen"..........................................................................
Damn thieves, hope they catch the asshole(s)! The perp would have to be someone that knows what they were after wouldn't they? I can't imagine some meth hophead even knowing what the molds were. Were they made of aluminum or something else easily scrapped? Any photos of the molds or patterns so people know what to keep an eye out for?
I'd advise you post this on the various model car message boards! It was likely some loser meth head though who is trying to sell the stuff at a recycling yard. Don was one of my youthful heroes, anyone who built models in the 60's would know who he is! If you like, I can repost this on the model boards.
Yes, photos or descriptions of what the molds and patterns look like and are made of. The Chris Garcia mentioned. What does he have to do with this? Suspect?
