Event Coverage Does anybody go to West Coast Kustoms in Santa Maria?

I'm not looking for old threads about it. Wondering who's going. I haven't been, but lots of friends used to go. I moved from the L.A. area and would love to see the people who, at least, used to go.

If you can only attend this event for one day, which day/venue is best (i.e. fewer people and getting to look at cars close-up)...?

I'm inked to go. Lodging in Pismo and will be there for Friday evening event and the Saturday show at the fair grounds.

 

I try to get up there early Friday to watch the cars fill in to town. Hang at the Santa Maria Inn and watch the cruise from there. It ain’t Paso but it still pulls the cream of the crop Kustoms.

 

A few of us are thinking about heading back to Paso for the day to the show in the park. It's not the old Paso we knew, but a few more hot rods and variety of cars. Santa Maria is slowly turning into Bomb Lowrider event. Not that anything is wrong with that, but the show is going into a totally different direction than the old Paso Days with Rods & Customs.
Wish both shows a successful turn-out!

 

Agrée. May be more lowrider/bombs than Kustoms at this point. I dig looking at all of em but it sure has changed. The Kustoms keep me coming back though. Santa Maria has a big lowrider scene so I’d imagine it’s kinda hard to turn them away even if wck wanted to. Plus those low lows hit Broadway hard all night long.

 

I’m going , got my 36 on display at Viejas casino in San Diego this weekend . But will be in Santa Maria for memorial weekend.

 

From what I hear the usual Bakersfield crowd is going.

 

Well I haven’t been on here in a looong while - life gets in the way - but add me to the Kustoms attendees. Driving from OC on Friday via the 405 to pick up Hwy1 in Santa Monica and cruise PCH to Oxnard and then rejoin the 101- that’s the plan but could be subject to change. Just finished final detail and mechanical inspection and now ready for the road trip. Is anyone going to caravan from anywhere en route?

 

Anyone know if the show will happen in 2020?

 

Just looked at their website and it has been postponed until October 2020.

 

Last time i went was 3 years ago..if you dig customs thats the place..Santa Maria is a great town..nice and spread out..and they have a big rodeo around same time...bbq is the best..ill go to the next one FOR SURE!
