  4. Well let's see - not hibernating exactly - 3dnsouth decided he wants to build a SEG car and finds a 51 Chevy on Kansas City Craigslist. Road Trip! Took a vacation day and rolled out early Friday morning.

  6. We narrowly escaped. But now what? we are empty trailored and Eastbound........ TXT goes out for ideas. Club member Jay says he needs parts picked up in Kansas City. The guy turns out to be well connected in the car scene in KC  Says he knows a guy with a gasser for sale.

    Here we go again -

Glad to see long hard trip turned to gold - sweet score. Did you really lose your trunk? Brake out the aluminum sheet - lighter is faster.

  24. Yeah the deck lid really did blow off :( we tried to get it open when we were loading and it seemed stuck - wouldn't budge - it was a glass lid too :(

I'll let Tim decide on the build thread - the word we got was that it was raced in Wichita Kansas when the engine setback was 20% by Eddie Funk. When the rules went to 10%, it was parked and here we are. Tim is going to research it from there. Its really and old gasser for sure. Hated to lose the deck lid. We stopped for gas and it was gone. Some 30 minutes later on the I-70 a couple guys pull up next to us and yell they saw the lid about 2 hours ago

That was a bummer. I got home at 5am and damned if my wife didn't try to put a 9mm hole in me  maybe we should have gone back to get the deck lid o_O

  27. Thanks for the post-up on the trip Tony. Appreciate all the assistance and copiloting. I'll probably do a build thread, I enjoy 'em. HAMB build threads are mostly what I come here for. Gonna get 'er goin' ASAP. Anyone know of a decent deck lid near north Georgia, PM me, I'm on the hunt. Man, we couldn't open that sumbitch for nuthin', can't imagine how it came off. image.jpg

  30. If the deck lid was a unlightened stocker, your probably better with out. Quain said he almost did a hand stand picking up Shannons stock original, and 10-20% of that one had already returned to the earth!
