No it was raining until like 1pm so I hesitated to load it. Then about 3pm I see an Instgram post of Grumpy Ed in the staging lanes so I was all fired up to go but the sky wasn't looking good. It rained like hell about 5pm and I never did anything. It looks like they did run after a rain delay. Saw where Grumpy Ed watered the track down when his fan ate the radiator. I do wish I had gone now .....

Getting close to going stir crazy with the rain here. It looks like it will be fine for the Lyons Indiana race.
The slicks are still slipping on the rim after 4 races so finally said Screw Em!


In other news - @moparob is spotted on the west coast getting chummy with a fan


Then the guys building the War Lord 46 Ford gasser ask if anyone has any old slicks. They needed slot mags too so traded Cincinnati beer for old rubber and aluminum

so yes we are ready ! these 1 month between races suck. They moved the finals in November to Shady Side

cool tony, its great when something is whipping your ass and you get it figured out..........I know the feeling, you know ive been fighting that hilborn for 6 months, hauled the car to bowling green to the hhrr , talked to some fine folks (hunt family racing) his mechanic/builder tuned my car in 15 minutes, it starts, idles, revs and runs 10.50s in 1/4 and 6.53 in 1/8th.....would not let me pay him at all, so I went to town and got him and his crew steaks......congrats again

Anxiously awaiting news from Lyons

 

Just got home. Great time! Nice track! My car was not acting like it usually does .... didn't hit anyone - didn't anything that scrapes paint..... roughed up some cones and got chewed out by the crew chief

That involved a tow back to the pits and an ignition trouble shooting session .....

 

Not a super showing for the Q&D - it rained on Friday night before I could burn in my new M/T tires. So Saturday, the first pass started in the left lane and quickly went to the right lane
Then had an ignition problem in the distributor - which we solved as the A/G cars were going to the lanes. That pass started in the right lane and ended in the left lane and took out an assortment of cones. - no paint was hurt and nobody was rubbed the wrong way - but I caught hell from the crew chief hey I'm just riding this thing - didn't scare me so what's the problem
