I'm counting over 65 gassers that should be finished for the Southeast Gassers race in Shelby NC April 29th. Already 39 pre entered for the Montgomery Alabama race coming up April 8th.
And they are still some telling me the rules are to strict.

Any idea how many for SIM on May 19th & 20th? A few Yankees are heading your way.
We are all really looking forward to seeing your "show"!

And Tony, your car should definitely be in the mix this year! And it looks great too!

Should be over 60 there also. We only have a maximum of 5 hours for our race at SIM so we are going to qualify Friday night. Two rounds of qualifying Friday night then the race will start around Saturday morning 12 I'm guessing.
And yes Tony was coming around to be a front runner last year so with the new work this winter he will be player for sure.

  8. Still burning the midnight oil - lowered the front 2" which messed up all the shock mounts. Lowered the rear since the fenders are cut more now - that meant re-doing the rear shock mounts. Hope to get on the engine this week and the door art guy caught pneumonia so that's still delayed.

The car is still 3" higher than Quain's car

  17. Tony, if you are still looking for lettering to be done, the guy that Brad got to do his uncle's altered is in Athens, and does fantastic work!

  19. The guy that hangs out with Jimmy is doing the lettering. He has a different eye for the stuff than me so I put Kim on the job :D he's talented for sure but his style is a bit Old English or something - he's supposed to start today. We'll see ... its supposed to be almost 80 degrees ...

I appreciate the "fender!" It's an honor to be on the car, 2nd one I've ever been painted on. Thank you!

  25. I think he mixed up the "Induction by Smithberg" and put "Power by" We can fix it tomorrow. Still struggling on the main door though.

I couldn't sleep on this so I had him take it off with oven cleaner - it was fine - didn't hurt anything - except his feelings. Back to the drawing board ....

Fantastic Ride !! See Yall in Montgomery. We're still at it and getting ready to play the name game for the 53 Stude. Maybe this year ! Being the predecessor to the Hawk, I have "Hawk Eye" in mind. Still thinking of something more aggressive, just haven't come up with it yet.

  28. Picking a name is as bad as picking a paint color  Hope to get this thing running this weekend - it needs to run to get on the trailer and time is slipping away ....
