Just in the mock up stages and wondering what is the average weight of an assembled dodge super red ram ... That would be the 270. Just a rough figure will do... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
My guess is 625 - 650 lbs. The big Chrysler Fire Power was 735. Your engine is a lot smaller. Chev small block 540 lbs, it was the lightest V8 until the Ford 289 came out (450) and the Buick/Rover 215 is the lightest of all at 320. Weight of the baby hemi about the same as a wide block 318 (pre 1966) or a later model big block (396 Chev, 383 Chrysler etc). Hope this gives you the picture.
I seem to remember 640, so it looks like Rusty is right on. I built a "T" bucket with one in the '60's and remember it weighed 1835 wet without driver.
This is an age-old question with no single correct answer. Too many variables dependent on accessories. Generator? Flywheel? Fluid coupler? Bellhousing? Clutch? Your best bet is to start weighing the various pieces, that you will use, on a bathroom scale. .
Don't know for sure but I can tell you that my cherry picker takes as much effort lifting my 270 Super Red Ram completely assembled with flywheel , clutch and accessories as it does lifting my Mopar 383 with accessories
