I use mine I just dont walk on it. image.jpg image.jpg So we have had the dreaded treadmill in the bedroom for years not being used except to hang cloths on so I got sick of looking at it and drug it outside one afternoon while the Wifey was out. Now I just have to get it in the back of the pick up by myself when a light goes on in my pea brain, shoot I could use the top half for a bench base and then all I have to load is the lower treadmill part in the truck. I had a chunk of butcher block countertop from a remodel job I had done so I put the two together and made a nice bench I can roll around the shop if need be. If ya got it use it!

We have used 2 for clothes hangers, gave them away, will not buy #3, very good repurpose for your shop.

Rusty, good idea there. The board thats under the belt could be used for a benchtop too and the motor and speed controller are useful for powering a lathe or drill press or other tool as well.

I was sooooo hoping the sander was also built from the treadmill parts. Of course I have never seen mine move fast enough to be of any use.

What ... ya couldn't find a sanding belt big enough to take the place of the tread?

I have been wanting to get a treadmill. Not to exercise but to repurpose it. I have no idea what for yet. But I still want one.

I have one sitting in the scrap pile. Been taking pieces off here and there, free steel! Was planning on using the belt for running board covers if it hasn't rotted yet. Hadn't thought about the motor, I need to drag it out and pull that and see if it's still good.

  15. Tie it in to your television for it's power source so you can only watch said entertainment box will only when you're walking or running on the treadmill.... (yes that was evil I know...:D)

I must be weird but I use mine to walk on nearly every day. It is almost worn out and now I know what to do with it when it finally quits.

A good project for the variable speed motor would be to drive a bead roller...........

We got rid of cable a few years ago. So I watch very little TV. There isn`t a single program that I watch weekly, not even the news.

I have a Nordic Track Elliptical Machine I use everyday. It sits in our bedroom right next to my side of the bed. Every morning when I wake up I use it. I swing my legs out of bed then use one of the handles to stand up. Haven’t used it for exercise in a long time although it sure wouldn’t hurt me to try.

Used to walk 4 miles every morning. Had my first chest pains while walking. Had a heart attack that night. Gave up walking..........other than the bathroom and workshop.

Wish I would have seen this when I lived on the farm and burned wood in the furnace. I just had a sheetmetal lined wood shoot. It would get plugged if I threw wood from the trailer in it too fast. This would have solved that problem.

  27. Use the motor/controller to convert a wood band saw to a metal band saw.

Bought one for my wife years ago and got used twice!! Now handed over to daughter-in-law and she does use it(still only 36yo). I have heard that the golden rule when you buy a treadmill is check that it will slide under the bed because in a short time that is where it will be. Out of sight, out of mind.
