Sorry, I don't. That's a Tom Davidson pic that I saved from a thread here on the HAMB. I'll bet someone here knows the car. Bill

    One of my favorites: Tom Lieb's 5-1929-ford-highboy-roadster-side-view (1).jpg 13-1929-ford-highboy-roadster-grille.jpg

This is the stance I'm going for with my '29. Does this axle look to be more than a 4-inch drop?

Looks to have an original 32 axle that has been dropped. I would guess 2" to 2.5" drop on the axle. This is the only other picture I have seen of this car.

  9. A flat crossmember, dropped original '32-'36 axle, Posies 1001L spring, and notched side rails will get you right in that ballpark.

It really doesn't get any better than this.

I'll add my humble turd. I worked hard to make it look so crummy. LOL! Casney's is tops for sure. IMG-1016.jpg

Thank You, Rich B! I'm looking at buying a narrowed 4" dropped Superbell axle (34" spring perch center) from a HAMBer. I'll see if Posies has similar spring for the axle.

  16. Not to get in the middle of your deal; but while a 46" axle is useful on a low full fender car, a 49" (or so) dropped stock axle or even a 48" aftermarket axle suits an open wheel car better.

Here are a couple pictures of the flat crossmember we make out of 1/4" x 2-1/2" square. It is full width so it welds to the inside of the frame rail as well as the boxing plate.

Rich B, I'll take the axle width into consideration. I hadn't thought about the visual alignment between front and rear tires. Thanks for the pictures.

  25. I always thought this would have been a cool little roadster in it's time.
