I thought it got repainted, back about 20 posts... "The '29 for '76".

I have the LaSalle box out of Magoo's black roadster...It's behind my 354 Hemi in MY black Highboy roadster.

  4. One of the first '29 on '32 rails that caught my eye back when Hot Rod was about hot rods.

  5. Sad to see that this neat '29 on deuce rails was left out to rot; hope it found a good home and was brought back to life.

That car belonged Lewis Young. Had a blown SBC with a quick change cover on a chrome Jag rear. I fell in love with the car at the '75 Street Rod Nats in Memphis. I have no idea what became of it.

I loved to read Bill Burnham's column when he was alive. If I remember right, he had an FE engine in that car. The body blister on the hoodside was to provide clearance for exhaust ports on the heads.

I'm pretty sure this car was built by Brian Bass.

Thank You! I did not remember the Jag rear but I do remember it had an A grille not a Duece. Some cars are just iconic because they are tasteful and not overly done. I prefer the “not in your face” look, and “Easter Egg Hunt” execution.

Thought of another one. Bill Brutsman's highboy roadster.

  14. If only folks knew. I can get 800 to a thousand all day long for that dash insert. Sold one years ago and still get PMs asking if I have any more

I will guarantee that this roadster has some important history if some research was done!

Maybe you Southern guys will have a pic of a '29 Roadster that a very colorful guy from I believe the Memphis area owned. I think he had a whispy mustache. The last time I saw the car was at the '92 Nats, but I'm sure it was probably a 70's built car. It was a brandy wine in color but the big distinguishing feature was it had big hoop style door handles probably from a center door T. Ring a bell with anyone?

Yes, that is an Auburn dash insert. I am lucky enough to have one in both my deuce 3 window and deuce roadster.

The Bishop roadster wasn't on a 32 frame.

Bishop’s roadster may have been built on a Essex frame. I built one with a Essex frame in the 50’s and it had a similar look to it.

Pretty sure it was an A frame. They wrote a whole book on it.
