Do You Have a NON Sanctioned DRAG STRIP Near YOU?

How about Woods Bros at Sallisaw, OK and Ozark Raceway east of Springfield, MO.

Great 1/8 mile tracks

 

I bet there are tons of them, what they do around here is create thier own sanctioning body. Several tracks band together for insurance reasons and create thier own sanctioning body and then they create an added competition thing from track to track and hold thier own 'national event' at the end of the year by sending thier top racers to the host track. The track rules are no different from a nhra or ihra track they just don't have the expenses and the cars/drivers have to have sfi certs as well as licensing etc. At some of the tracks they have shortened them to 600' because many of the cars can run 160+mph in 660' and then have to make a left hand turn right after the traps is hard on the sphincter and there are cases when one guy will run other anothers unopened chute.

Steel Valley dragway between Wheeling, WV. and Steubenville, Ohio. 1/8 mile and it started about 1993 on a old uphill airport.

 

Surely Yello Belly hasn't cleaned up enough to get a sanction?

And what about Cedar Creek Raceway, down in the Gunbarrel City/Seven Points area?

Riverdale Raceway by Mt. St. Helens in Washington is one of the coolest outlaw tracks around, very nice facility that is improving all the time! sure hope it stays around!! THANKS Chris

I know they follow NHRA's rules to some extent but most are more flexible and allow cars to run like our HAMB Dragsters as the rules are written. Thanx for the input, Rocky

Four non-sanctioned still running in south east NC are Farmers Union(aka Rico or the cornfield) near Hallsboro NC. 710 Dragway near Pembroke NC. Harrells dragway in Harrells NC. Thunder Valley Dragway near Red Springs NC. All four have T&T some bracket racing and lots grudge racing. All four are 1/8 mile. Between those four and 4 sanctioned tracks within 1 1/2 hours of Fayetteville NC you can test or race Wednesday thru Sunday somedays two tracks on the same day.

Anyone know if lassiter mtn in fultondale al is still running? Used to run dixie pro stockers/quick eight in the early to mid 90's on Joey Moores crew back then

 

Rogersville Mo. They can run 1/4 in the slower classes. Mostly 1/8 tho. Has been there since the 70's. Owned by the Chance family I think. They've done a lot of work to it in the last few years.
