I picked up a set of cadillac caps and I was wondering if they take a special steel wheel for them to fit? Thank you.
They take a dished wheel.... no raised center in it. Buick had a similar wheel or they might be the same.
I'm pretty sure that those are 56 caps and they do only fit on certain Cadillac rims as far as I know.
Cadillac rim on the front of this Pontiac. You can see how much deeper it is than the Pontiac rim on the back.
The caddy rim has a deep "first step" , you can see it in wvenfields picture. They even have special wheel weights with a longer mounting arm to fit these types of rims.
depends on the cap. some yes, some no. generally, in my experience if it's a rim clip probably not, center clip probably. disclaimer I generally only mess with 50-53 sombreros.
had a '79 coupe deville and the wheel covers attached with three little clips . those wheels had a lip on the rim, but it threw 'covers with great regularity. .
Like the others said 1956 and will only fit the deep rims. I have cut the centers out of these 56's. The outer part makes a hell of a nice trim ring.
