do it yourself tailights

I was just wondering if anyone has ever made their own tailights and what is involved. What is the best way to make the lense.Thanks.

 

There are kits on the market geared towards model builders for resin casting. You come up with a master, make a mold, then cast them in red tinted clear resin.

I am thinking about trying this on my next build. I have also considered going to a glass blower and having something funky made up.

Just a couple of ideas.

 

A few years back there was a tech story and just such a topic. I`ll se if I can find it.
