I dug these Dixson gauges out of a box and I have no idea if they are old or not. I’ve looked a bit on the internet but I haven’t found anything. Anyone have an idea? I think I’m going to use them in my 55.

That sounds about right. There were Dixco and evidently Dixon gauges that looked like the Sun gauges from the same time frame.
I've got a rather smallish Dixco tach that I had in two or three rigs over the years stashed away in a box somewhere. I think I put it in the 48 when I first put the 283 in it. I didn't have a working speedometer but 3000 rpm was 80 mph.

Thanks! And it should have said Dixson, I typed it wrong the first time.

  6. Bought some in 68-69. Not shure how long they had been on the market before

I still have that oil pressure gauge. I bought it new in 1965.

  8. Mid 60's, I remember the membership clubs in southern Cal carrying the Dixco gauges...
