Holding distributor like holding a beer, your palm is the vacuum advance canister and your fingers is the pull rod. The direction your fingers point is the direction distributor rotates.

The way I was taught, if you shoot a BB gun into the hose connection on the vacuum advance canister, picture that BB going thru the canister and into the cap and going round and round. The direction that BB goes is the rotation of the rotor. Stayed with me for 50 years.

It's all in how you look at it. And yes, drop it where it lands and wire it up. Cap don't care.

This is a use the correct hand for the task operation. Not really rocket science.

Wrap your thumb around the advance using the hand that lets you point your index finger around the outside of the distributor with the advance in your hand. If you are using your left hand it is clockwise if you are using your right hand it is counter clock wise,. it's too late to draw pictures tonight.

Yep Twisting ones wrist and trying to bend ones fingers backwards and feeling the discomfort is a clear indicator one should use the other hand. :D

"15 is too young, 36 is too old, 24 is just right" is the way I heard it.

"Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls, But Violet Gives Willingly" was long used as the mnemonic to memorize the electronic resistor color code. I suspect that is no longer considered "politically correct".

So this guys out golfing and cant decide which club to play on his approach shot, a frog says "rivet nine iron" so he paly the nine and hits to within a couple inches. Takes the frog to the next hole and asks for club advice, frog says "rivet 3 wood" and the guys holes the shot! Has the round of his life asks the frog what's next, frog says "rivet Vegas" so they fly to Vegas and hit the roulette table, frog says "rivet 20" so the guy throws everything he has on 20 black and it comes in, 35 to 1, he makes a fortune and heads to the his room. Once there the frog says "rivet kiss me", he figures why the hell not? He does so and the frog turns into a beautiful 15 years old girl.

And honest your honor, that is how she came to be in my room.
