Disc brake question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Dec 26, 2003.

  1. I have a pair of dropped spindles for the ranch wagon,,,anybody know if the ford Granada with the inline 6 front brakes are 11 inch like the V8?

I heard about this car from a family member and would like to know if its worth the time to drive 50 miles to check it out.
....I need the brackets, calipers and rotors.

According to my Hollander they are D4DZ1102A

    Granada
    Monarch
    Comet 74 -75
    Maverick 74 -75

No mention of any difference between 6 and V8.....or them being 11"

BUT it is the 41st Edition......now they are printing the 79th or 80th Edition..... [IMG]

There are two different disc brake setups on Granada, 10" and 11" Sixes had 10", V8 were 11". Either one will work, but the 11" has a bit more swept area, and are more resistant to fade.

The difference in stopping power between a 10" rotor and an 11" rotor is IMMENCE !! Had 10's on my '50 chev....was HARD to bring to a QUICK stop...changed to 11's....night and day !!! My .02....
