Hot Rods disc brake on 48 chevy spindles

    need to know any info on useing 1978 nova disc brakes on 48 chevy truck spindles [ bearing size spacers ect

    i would buy kit from speedway! $ 250 plus shipping!! it has everything!!!

    plan on useing the 31 chevy straight axle with the 48 spindles ,speedway has different boss size on there spindles

    Not sure what you mean by boss size but if you have the 47 spindles the speedway kit should fit it. You may have
    to drill out the mounting holes on the spindle but that is no big deal, and the brakes do not know what axle the
    spindle id mounted on, so long as the angle of the kingpin inclination is the same.
     

  6. Speedway's kits that will work on early Chevy truck spindles require that the snout on the spindles be machined to match their bearings. If you can't do it yourself, Speedway can machine your spindles or sell you custom disc brake ready spindles.
