Differences in GM brakes and spindles from 1951-54?

Hello, I'm looking for a 51-54 front drum setup in a 6x5.5 bp and I'm trying to figure out what GM applications I should hunt for. I'll be using a speedway drop axle set up for 49-54 chevy spindles so they have to bolt up to that. Was the 49-54 spindle used only on pass cars for those years? Trucks? I'd like to grab everything together if possible.
    Thanks in advance

It looks like the 6 x 5.5" bp stopped on pass cars in 1948, but continued on in the pickup line? Did the PUs use the pass car spindle, or if not, can a PU hub be used on a pass car spindle?

pickup hubs and brakes will go on the 49-54 passenger spindle. truck and passenger spindles are different, just not in the part where the hubs would slide onto.

I'd suggest getting rid of the ball and cage bearings while you are at it.

Ok, so I can use the 49-54 pass car spindles, with the pickup hub and brakes, which will give me the 6 x 5.5 wbp then. thank god

    PN for the newer bearings?

Any specific years for the drum assys off the pickups? 51-59 half ton drums are 11x2 and only $45 each, I'm hoping I can use those.

Use 51-54 Chevy car brakes, with 51-59 Chevy pickup hubs and drums.

    15,000?

I'd look for the bearings at chevsofthe40s.com.

I had a ball fall out of the cage on the way back from Paso one time. 150 miles each way. lucky it did not totally destroy the bearing while driving and I made it home. I'll never run those bearings again on anything.

Oh ok, I was checking to see if the pass car drums came in 11" but you just answered my question. Time to hit the JYs
