DIE CAST TUESDAY - WEEKLY

Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by edcodesign, Mar 28, 2017.

  1. Great collection tombstone. Looks like a pedal car theme this week. I wish I hadn't posted the Tucker. Lol . Here's one I restored for my daughter's first birthday. And a diecast to match it. 20170822_095236.jpg 20170822_095609.jpg

Just so everyone knows, the Texaco truck is a modern reproduction of Metal-Craft trucks made in St. Louis in the 20s and 30s. The Sand and Gravel truck is from 1928 and the ones that can be partially see are from about 1930. IMG_6384.JPG

  5. Here is a another diecast pedal car. I also restored a full sized one, for my daughter. The picture is of her playing with it in back yard. It's a 1950's kidillac. 20170822_100444.jpg 20170822_101029.jpg 20170822_101049.jpg 20170822_100535.jpg

OK enuf cast iron. Here are two pressed steel Chrysler Airflows. I think the tan one was made by Wyandotte in Wyandotte Michigan. The blue version was made by Kingsbury and has (had) working headlights. IMG_6414.JPG IMG_6412.JPG

    Ron,
Wow, what fantastic beach toys for a fun outing. I would have loved to play with that set up at our local beach. Our grand daughter liked going to the beach from 1 year old on up. But, we had the simple bucket, shovels and a dump truck. One day she found an old Hot Wheels car in the sand. That became her "magic" beach car every time we went to the beach from that moment of time. Of all of the Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars at our house, she always chose that crummy, salt corroded, Hot Wheels car for her "sandy roads" leading to the sand castle on our beach escapades.

    Junji
It did not matter that the two "collectors boxes" full of cool, miniature cars at home was for her liking, she just would not take any of them. But, she made sure that her corroded, Hot Wheels car was in the beach bag.

Just to show how important that little thing was, we had to trek back across the hot sand to find it one day, as it dropped out of one of the bags of stuff. She did not want to go get an ice cream until we found it. As luck would have it, it was 1/2 way to the water in a dark, shaded, pit of sand.

  24. Thanks for the deliveries! Great deuce collection 48stude . Here's an old, Buddy L panel with a campus cutie. She's got a 10 cents marked on her bottom plate. Remember the old five and dime stores. 20170905_170333.jpg
